Miss Modesty - Let's Talk About Clothes

The holidays are over.... sort of.;)

Being Miss Modesty it's strange that I have yet to talk about clothes and stuff like that. So let's do that now.
I have touched briefly on the fact that women/girls walk around nowadays wearing close to nothing.
I am being raised in a home where skirts/shorts/dresses have to come down at least to your knees. Straps have to be 3 or 4 fingers wide, and at the neck the lowest is 4 fingers from the collarbone.
It's not easy for my sister and I to find suitable dresses, but we manage.

Jewelry believe it or not, has its limits. My personal opinion is (because of course you want to hear it): nose-rings,  lip-rings, tongue-rings, and eyebrow-rings just totally ruin a beautiful face. And why would you want to.... I mean, were you inspecting your face one day and decided it would look better with two little metal balls protruding from your eyebrow? Really?
really gross!
Here are a few jewelry tips:
  • If you have a low neckline, add a small necklace.
  • Yellow and Blue, beautiful Sue!
  • Something simple goes a long way if put on right (this also applies for make-up).
  • If your earring is bigger than you head... don't wear it!
  • Long, pretty necklaces brighten up a plain shirt.
  • Make sure your jewelry matches: no silver earrings with a gold necklace.
  • If all else fails, put on a scarf or go without accents.
Make-up also needs to be applied modestly. Goopiness distracts the eye from your true beauty. My rule for, well, anything really is: Simple and Stunning. And you know those other phrases: A little bit goes a long way; A drop does a lot. And just because something looked good on "her" does not mean it will look good on you. For example; Autumn can wear eyeliner, and I cannot (it makes me look like a pirate). Some things just don't look the same on everybody.

It's not summer, but, we should still discuss bathing suits. In our house, we don't show bellybuttons (and please don't pierce there either). Wearing a bikini is the exact same as going to the beach in your underwear; WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO DO THAT!?! You may as well go to the store with your bra on over your shirt. People really didn't think this through. I think around summer I'll do an "evolution of the swimsuit" blog.
old-fashion swimsuits;P
