Didn't get a whole lot of pictures from the play - since iphones are not authentic to the first century - but got a few on the side.

I sat down on Monday (since this was the first year in a long time we didn't do school on Labor Day) and wrote down some funnies.
Jacob (in blue) & Josiah (in red) meet Steve the thief & some Roman Guards
*Jacob and Josiah were excited to get to meet the "Roman Soldiers" and "some thieves" before the play
began. They may be confused now about who the bad guys are.
*When Jeremiah the "captain" of the guard walked up Jacob told him, "I like your toothpick" (plastic sword).
*I met, Stephen, the man who played the High Priest during rehearsal Saturday. The "officials" get escorted in through the audience and across the stage area to a tent on the side while the crowd/market goers go on stage from the side. While passing the High Priest he looks at me and says, "Hi, Erin." I smiled back (because I couldn't think of his name at the moment and my hands were full of fake fruit for the market and one four year old boy). Sweet thought as I remembered that today. THE High Priest really does know my name. He never forgets me. And His is the sweetest name I know.
Isaiah 49
"The Lord called me from the womb,
from the body of my mother he named my name."
from the body of my mother he named my name."
“'Can a woman forget her nursing child,
that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before me.'"
that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before me.'"
Isaiah 49:1b & 15-16
Alex (in the white w/fringe to the left) and Elijah (smiling) standing guard for Caiaphas (moving his red robe) and Harod (red crown)
Autumn (yellow) & Ava (purple)
*I couldn't wear my glasses during the play - not period authentic.Ava and Autumn were part of the dancing (hopping around) girls group. Even without my glasses I could still see a HUGE smile on Autumn's face as she skipped around. Future movie star!
*Several teens sat near were we sat off stage. Several were boys. One (who'd just come from having his ear whacked off by Peter) sat CLOSE to Ava. Her mother was ready to beat him with a water bottle. (In all fairness, he wasn't TOO close and he was very well behaved). And Ava thought, "they are weird." I didn't tell her that's normal boy behavior.
*One of the thieves the little boys meet was named Steve. Steve got crucified. During that whole scene I was answering questions from Josiah about whether Steve was dead yet.
We had a marvelous time! Lord willing we will do it again next year. Here's a few more pictures for your viewing pleasure.
Jesus in the Garden (one of our favorite parts)
Little Children (3 of mine)
Crowd (big girls in the small circle to the left (Lora sitting on a bench)
Selfies with the 4 year old! Keeping entertained
"Jesus'" wife - well, the wife of the fellow who played Jesus (they had 3 beautiful children) took our picture
